The Plexus Groupe is proud to announce that two of our talented 2025 summer interns have been awarded academic scholarships for the 2025-26 school year, as announced by The Council Foundation. Gladys Castro, a senior at Texas Woman’s University, and Riley Heydenburg, a senior at Marquette University, were both honored for their outstanding contributions during their internships.
“Gladys contributed immediately to the Dallas Employee Benefits Team, jumping in during renewal and marketing results season,” said Brenda Burke, SVP, Employee Benefits Practice Leader at The Plexus Groupe. “Her commitment to learning new things during her internship was remarkable. We want to thank her for giving 100% to each task–it’s been a pleasure having her on board. Congratulations on this much-deserved scholarship!”

The Council Foundation’s mission is to attract and develop new, diverse talent in the insurance brokerage sector. Its scholarship program, run in partnership with internship leaders at The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers member firms, recognizes top-performing interns who show exceptional promise. Member firms nominate their standout interns, with the goal of encouraging them to pursue full-time opportunities and long-term careers in the commercial insurance brokerage industry.

This year, Gladys and Riley joined a select group of just 84 college students nationwide who were awarded The Council Foundation Scholarship.
