We are excited to announce that Hannah Bush, one of our 2026 summer interns and a senior at the University of Kentucky, has been selected as a recipient of an academic scholarship for the 2026-27 school year, as announced by The Council Foundation. She was honored as the Assurex Global Robert P. Ashlock scholar, named after Bob Ashlock, who served as Assurex Global president and CEO from 1977-1992. Bob’s personal desire was to support professional development and education in agency management and entrepreneurial endeavors, and The Council honors his memory with a named scholarship. Hannah was recognized for her meaningful contributions throughout her rotational internship and for demonstrating exceptional potential for a career in the insurance industry.
“Hannah has consistently shown the initiative to get things done and the resourcefulness to find answers when she didn’t have them,” said Joe Lebar, Operations Manager, Business Systems and Integration. “It’s been great watching her work through various challenges in her time at Plexus.”

The Council Foundation is dedicated to attracting and developing the next generation of insurance professionals. Through its scholarship program, the Foundation partners with internship leaders at member firms of The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers to award $5,000 academic scholarships to exceptional interns who have demonstrated outstanding performance and a passion for the industry. The program encourages talented students to pursue long-term careers in commercial insurance brokerage while supporting their continued education.

Hannah is one of just 70 college students nationwide who received The Council Foundation scholarship this year.
